This perlite is an excellent lightweight soil conditioner to improve soil aeration. Its main purpose is to help in loosening soil, reducing caking and improving drainage and aeration. This formula is ideal for seedlings, propagating cuttings and storing bulbs. The porous surface of expanded perlite provides room alternately for both air and water in the mixes which is needed for vigorous root growth. Perlite is good for mixing with clay soil in the garden, potting mixes and use with various cacti, succulents and plants that need excellent drainage. To create a custom soilless mix, blend with peat moss and vermiculite.
