Clairol Nice n Easy Permanent Color - 2BG 126 Natural Burgundy Black Hair Color 1 Application

When given the chance to try out the Clairol Nice 'n Easy hair dye sent as part of a campaign through BzzAgent, I was very excited because I have not dyed my hair in a very long time. I used to dye my hair every 6 months, each time using a different brand or type. My usual fall back when I can't decide what new one to try is L'Oreal because they have a good selection of assorted black shades (mixed with blues, reds and purples, just the way I like). With this opportunity from BzzAgent and Clairol I may have found my new go to dye! Application: Nothing really too special or unique here. Not that that's a bad thing. The directions were very straightforward and easy to follow. It was easy to mix and apply. It thankfully was not overly streaky or runny. It applied very evenly, leaving no undyed patches. The application process took me less than 15 minutes, from reading the directions to setting the timer. For my hair this is a very good time. Gloves: Now the gloves are a bit of a difficult thing with all dyes, they are one aspect that never seem to be right for anyone or everyone. I found these particular gloves to fit just fine. If you have larger or smaller hands then they will not fit and as they are not stretchy in the least, there is no way they ever will. Personally I like this type of glove despite it's obvious cheapness (though seriously it's hair dye! They aren't going to give fancy gloves!). I find the more universally fitting, stretchy gloves to be tough to remove and put back on without covering my hands in dye. These gloves were easy to remove and put back on safely. I would recommend that if you dye your hair enough at home, get some disposable gloves that you know fit you, proper fitting gloves make a huge difference in you hair dying experience. Smell: I found this dye's smell to be very strong but much more tolerable than others. Rather than the usual pure dye smell it seemed to have been infused with perfumes to try to mask it. If you are particularly sensitive to smells then this may not be the right dye for you. I found it smelled far more perfumey than other dyes I have used and did not cause me to have any headaches. As with all dyes, remember to use a well ventilated area regardless of the smell. Color: At first I found the color to be very strong, I had thought that the colors would be more natural so I was a bit surprised. Personally I like more dramatic colors so I was okay with this. The color became more natural after a shower so it didn't last too long. After my first shower the colors evened out nicely and I have really enjoyed the different colors, the highlights add nice dimension to my hair color. Staining: I always find staining to be a huge problem. Honestly I make the biggest mess whenever dying my hair. No matter how hard I try I'm always finding it on my bathroom walls, mirror, and around the sink. Not to mention the amount I manage to get around my scalp, ears, and the back of my neck. I found far less of this on my bathroom fixtures than normal and it was very easy to clean off the skin. Also I found that it wasn't coming out on my pillow for the week following the dye job as so many dyes do, and it wasn't coming out of my hair with each shower. Overall I love this dye! One box was enough to color all of my hair, which is so nice as sometimes I have to buy two boxes to make it even. It was easy to apply and not so bad smelling (to me). Mostly I like the wide variety of colors to choose from and the dimension of each color. It was easy to keep clean and it has been staying longer so I can go longer between dyes. If you want to add a bit of life to your hair then definitely give this a try! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

I got involved in this campaign as I like to change up my hair color. It took a bit before I had a chance to actually do it, but when I did it looked amazing. So many compliments. The one thing I didn't like was the really strong smell, but I guess you get that with any coloring product. The best part about it was the smell of the conditioner it really smells like coconut.. I love coconut smelling products. Unlike other products it doesn't leave your hair feeling grainy and rough it feels so soft and smooth.
