ProSkin IS Pro Protection

Let's face it! If we've got leakage issues, we need all the camouflage of our protection products that we can get, in addition to the maximum protection from wetness, and most importantly, odor as is possible. I typically use pads but keep underwear on hand, and this Tena Proskin underwear for women, has it all. It is "nude" color, it's soft, it has no paper sound when you move about, it fits well even for plus size women, it absorbs fast & it does lock-in the odor. It also has some blue threading in the waist-band to show which is the back side, to avoid any confusion. It's a nice surprise from the Tena brand.

Feels like Cloth!

Tena introduced new Proskin Underwear and they feel light and almost cloth-like. The leg openings are 'frilly' for lack of a better word. The openings are curved and provide a secure fit. The padding is slim although very absorbent, even in the maximum style. Overall the panty fit is very good and comfortable. Every woman wearing this kind of underwear has their own unique problem. Mine is sudden coughing, sneezing or when I unlock the front door, signaling to my bladder that I am home. I've tried every brand of bladder underwear on the market. The Tena Proskin is definitely the most comfortable protection underwear I have ever worn to the point of feeling as if I am wearing nothing. It does not contain latex. The fact that it is fully breathable fabric is important to me. I've worn underwear that left my skin damp and uncomfortable. I never realized it before I saw the small drawing on the package that you can remove the panty by pulling open on the sides. I've been using scissors. If I have any complaint, it is to all the makers of women's protective underwear, please make something that will protect the leg openings from becoming wet when there is a sudden gushing.

YES PLEASE!! Where have you been all my life?

I am an incontinence pad user, so was happy for the chance to give these special incontinence underwear for women a try. I had heard of them, but had never bought any, because quite frankly, I never thought they would fit my more-than-ample behind. When I saw that these supposedly stretched out to a pretty large size, I decided to give them a shot. First off, it was advertised as a package of 56 count underwear. I was very disappointed to only receive a small package of 14 count underwear – a significant difference in the advertised count! But, I was sent this item in exchange for a review, so I could not really complain about it – just disappointed. Since most people reading reviews (yes you!), especially for this kind of product, are interested in real life experiences with a product that they are buying online, I will be quite frank and probably give you more information than you really wanted to know. I am a larger woman. I wear a size 3X in pants, and a size 13 in underwear from a women’s retailer for large-sized clothing (important to distinguish that, as the size 13’s off the shelf are MUCH smaller than the ones I buy). I weight around 325 right now. I figured these Tena Incontinence undies would be a joke, and I’d get them to about knee level and they’d stop there. Well, imagine my shock and surprise when these things actually FIT me! Not well, but they fit! I stretched them a little bit first so the elastic had a chance to buck up for the ride. Now, with the first pair, I could not see a back vs front, and ended up putting them on backwards. Of course, the front fit great, but the back rode down to my crack! Hahah! *Mildly embarrassing, felt stupid, got over it* It was annoying and I tugged on them all day long. But that ended up being a user-end error. I still do not see any markings that designate the back, but it you lay out a pair, you can see where the front has the legs cut higher than for the back. Use that accordingly to put them on correctly! Once I put them on correctly, I was surprised at how they fit me pretty well, since I carry the majority of my weight in my upper legs, hips and rear. When I was not bloated (and I bloat very easily), they actually fit pretty well. I was shocked. On my bloated days, the front kind of hung at slightly-above-navel-area, and felt like it was falling down, but that is not the product’s fault. I did have to occasionally help the leg openings go over my abundant thighs, but the leg elastic did not pinch, much to my surprise. I thought it would rub and chafe, and it did not. The pad part itself is VERY long, but it doesn’t feel like you are wearing diapers. In fact, it was SO much more comfortable to sleep in than the Ultimate pads that I normally use. The biggest surprise was that it did not irritate my skin at all. With my Ultimate pads (by the same company), the plastic liners chafe my legs and lady parts a LOT, often to the point where I hate to wear them. They also feel bulky to sit in, and cause some discomfort. I was happily surprised that the Tena Proskin Incontinence Underwear not only did NOT chafe me at all, I could sleep comfortably in them. I actually felt more secure, with the length of the pad going up the behind. If you have had heavy incontinence for long, you know what I mean – it can feel like you have totally wet your pants at the back, whether you did or not - liquid travels right up the crack area. I DID experience some “rolling” of the panties themselves while sleeping. One night, I woke up and the entire panty had rolled to a “tube”, looking more like a rope bikini with a pad attached. But it still did not affect the absorption and both my bed and I remained dry all night long. I also did not feel like I was sitting on a cumbersome wad of cotton and plastic, like I sometimes do with the regular separate pads. The ONLY real issue I had with them, other than the occasional rolling, was that when I was trying to make it to the potty once, it did leak over the edge of the pad portion down the inner thigh, right on down my leg. I am not sure why, or if perhaps they had twisted a little bit while wearing them. It only happened once though, not every time. I also managed to poke my fingernail through the panty once trying to pull it up and adjust it when it rolled down. I imagine I am at the top of the weight limit for these, and put it to the test. I also gave these an extra test by putting one of my other incontinence pads into the Proskin underwear, like it was my regular underwear. The Proskins seem so thin; I really didn’t trust them to not leave me soaked. That worked fine too, but was not necessary. Overall, I was THRILLED with this product, and will be buying more for at least nighttime use. It was SO much more comfortable than regular underwear and a bulky pad that shifts. I can comfortably say that even if you are a larger woman, these will very likely fit you too, and they truly do the job. Well done, Tena. Please keep making them the same way, and do not cut back on the panty area – we need every inch of it!
