Hands on plunger!

I bought this because I like that it has a self contained caddy that twists closed but upon receiving it I find out that this plunger (which is the kind that has the extra ring that hangs down from the bottom) but in order to store it the ring has to be in the collapsed position....so I guess the next time you have to plunge you need to pull out the bottom part of the plunger - no thank you!
