After accidentally breaking my iPad Mini with Retina Display I needed a replacement. As I have an Android phone I figured I would look for an Android tablet to keep things all in the family. However, I loved the display on the iPad. Well, as it turns out the ZenPad uses the same ultra high resolution display as the iPad. And it is just as speedy. Even better, it is a little lighter and noticeably thinner. A definite winner.

Asus says they are in search of the incredible and indeed they have found it. I like the photography software the best. It is loaded with useful options that are truely amazing. This tablet can record and play back full HD 1080 video, HD 720 video, and VGA or TV 480 video. The photography editing software can do so many great things, the kinds of things you would expect from good quality imaging software. It can adjust lighting, contrast, highlights, coloring, saturation, sharpness, and plenty of other things. It even has an evaluative light metering system so variable light shots can be balanced. It can use low light and night photography and even panoramic shots. The TV resolution makes the video look a little fuzzy though because it expands the image to fill the screen. It would be helpful if Asus fixed that so the TV resolution videos could be displayed in a smaller window to prevent this. It can't be left plugged in nonstop. It must be unplugged after it is fully charged to avoid damaging the battery. I also like that the screen can be left on so it won't blank out because of inactivity. It can use "knock on" or off to put the tablet to sleep or wake it up. It can use a MicroSD card that slides into a slot on the side that can close with a flexible rubberized flap so the card doesn't stick out. Just push on the installed, not included, removable MicroSD card and it pops out enough so it can be easily removed. This tablet does not force you to download software updates. Instead it gives you a choice. The processer has been easily able to keep up with whatever I've used so far and the touch screen is both very responsive and intuitive. It has been such a joy to use this tablet. Even with the screen cranked up bright sun can make it difficult to use. The battery also lasts for hours and the tablet hardly weighs a thing. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an excellent quality computer tablet. I purchased this tablet from walmart.com on Jan 7, 2017 and wrote this review on the same on January 21, just two weeks later. Also, the network connection can be left on while the tablet is asleep (screen off) allowing delivery of push notification messages such as those from social networks. I think anyone looking for a great tablet will be very pleased with this one. It is also small enough that it can fit in a gallon size plastic zipper bag to keep it clean and a little safer when being packed up and transported. It does not have an LED flashlight / camera flash. It does; however, take some really good pictures. I hope my very lengthy review has been helpful.
