Yes they are plastic but you cant tell if you put them in a shady spot. You can always spray paint them a different color to suit your needs. But if you have an issue where the stake parts break then youre either pushing it in too hard or you havent cleared a small hole in the dirt for it. I think they are rather cute and adds a nice touch to my flower bed. It also keeps my cat away.

I purchased this fencing to protect my flowers from wayward ball throwing and rolling and it 's working. I had to pre make holes because the soil was so hard, but if your soil is normal it will go in easily.
