Fails to do most obvious requirment - hold water in sink

Previously have had a number of very positive experiences with Kohler products. After a competitive product rusted, I decided to pay 40% more for a replacement with a Kohler product. After installation, could not get the stopper to hold water in the sink. Bad enough the instructions do not provide any info on adjustments, but, did find adjustment note imprinted on the rubber itself. Nonetheless, despite endlessly loosening/tightening the adjustment screw could not get the stopper to not leak water being held in sink. It's the simplest of requirements, yet, somehow the engineering failed.

We recommend removing the oring on the basket strainer and using the basket without. This will give the basket strainer and drain body the proper seal it needs.
