Excellent overview!

Looking at the stunning visuals that video games provide today, I have often wondered when a formal look at the aesthetics of video games would arise. With Game Art, here we are. The in-game backgrounds, character renderings, concept and promotional art reaches heights it was hard for me to imagine in the past while playing Pong and Pac-Man. I was surprised that the interviews with the creators of those 40 games are so in-depth and cover important issues facing the video game industry, including artistic, business, and social concerns, from personal and professional perspectives. The book itself is well-bound and designed, and I found it a pleasure to flip through and read.
