tamarind garlic soup

Okay so people who are familiar with Viet cuisine probably love this stuff. Not me. It's basically tamarind garlic soup, and the small pouch calls for 5 cups of water! It's pretty potent but I'm not a fan of tamarind so I'm not thrilled. It has a sort of dusty earthy flavor. Maybe if we add some ingredients.
