I have many VHS tapes and now that there aren't any VHS players being made, I wanted to make sure I have one. I also have many family videos on VHS. I wanted something that I could copy our family videos onto DVD. My product arrived relatively quick; and I had no trouble connecting it. I have copied 3-4 of my family videos already and am relieved that they came out well. (The DVD is going to reflect the bumpiness and poor video quality of the VHS, so do not expect miracles!). I am very pleased with this and recommend it for viewing and copying precious memories.

I bought this Sanyo because I wanted an easy way to burn my VHS tapes to DVDs. This machine makes set-up very easy and the quality is great. The instructions in the manual are very easy to follow. Just make sure you FINALIZE the dvd when it's done so you can play it on any other device. I am using generic DVD-R blank discs and they are working fine.

I am so pleased with this Sanyo DVD recorder/player. It is so easy to use and to transfer from VHS to DVD. However, the instruction book on the page that explains how to transfer to VHS or DVD forgot to mention the "DUBBING" button that you have to select to start transferring. We found out what was wrong by looking at a page in the beginning of the book that showed the remote buttons and what they are for. The first step is to turn on your TV and set up the menu steps. next put in a DVD, if you are transferring to a DVD, and let it initialize. When it is done select VHS button and insert your VHS tape then hit "DUBBING". The machine starts to record to the DVD. Do the opposit for recorder on a VHS. We couldn't believe how easy it was to do. Because it is so easy to dub is what makes it a great matchine and I would highly recommend this product. Great price and excellent quality in manufacturing and dubbing picture/sound quality. Very pleased!
