What You Need:1 lb. boneless chicken, beef, or pork; cut in strips.2 Tbsp. soy sauce, 2 tsp. sugar,and 1/3 cup water.2 Tbsp. oil1 red bell pepper, 1 onion,2 celery stalks; ¼ inch slices,2 carrots; cut in matchstick pieces,¼ lb broccoli florets bite size piecesMakes 5 servings, about 1 cup each as prepared above.Preparations:1. Blend seasoning, soy sauce, sugar and water; set aside.2. In large skillet or wok, heat oil; ad meat and stir-fry until browned.3. Add vegetables; stir-fry.4. Add seasoning mixture; stir-fry 1 minute or until thickened.If desired, substitute snow peas, sliced mushrooms or water chestnuts for any of the above vegetables.In-a-Hurry: Use 1 pkg. (1lb) frozen oriental vegetables without sauce in place of fresh.

I love Mongolian beef and I've made it from scratch..it's a long, tedious cooking event, but I tried this to see if it tasted good. I wanted to see if it was up to the caliber restaurant quality and it was, surprisingly. This is how I tweaked it: I added two different color bell peppers, lg. onion %26 I used triple the amount of the garden onions, the green part when I added it to it so that's just for my particular taste and what I'm used to for restaurant quality but outside that it was awesome!
