I am very happy with these curtains, true to description they are not black out curtains but they do block most of the light coming through well as some sound . At night the streetlights and porch lights do not shine through at all and its totally black but during the day the curtains do softly glow purple and the room is still dark. I also like the subtle wave pattern in the fabric, also these curtains are lined on the back so they are kinda stiff not soft and flowy.
