Once you take the mattress out of the box and bag you only need to wait a little while for the air to go back into the mattress. There is an instruction sheet that comes with the mattress that says to allow the mattress 24-72 hours to fully go back to its correct size. It slowly raises and fills out. Ours was almost at its completely non-compressed size within a few hours. This mattress compression shipping has got to be one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I don’t know who thought about doing this, but I hope they got a patent on the technology. I was a little skeptical as to what to expect of a mattress that could be sucked down, rolled up and stuck into a smaller box. My worries are GONE. The mattress is very nice. It is a high quality mattress. The mattress is a quality gel memory foam that also has an innerspring coil system on the bottom. This allows for the softness you crave, but also provides the support that you need for a good night’s sleep. The gel is to keep you cooler as you sleep. I know I always go to bed cold and wake up sweating hot. This gel keeps the cool and prevents you from overheating as you sleep. The heat gets dispersed. I had wondered if the gel component wouldn’t be lumpy or cold. It isn’t at all. It’s soothing and comfortable. It is the best temperature controlled mattress I have ever slept on. I wasn’t sure about using memory foam to replace my love of pillow tops, but I have always wanted to try one. It is excellent! You don’t just sink into the mattress as I had expected. It isn't like a chair cushion. There is support there. It is soft and the textures do contour to your body, however you don’t feel like you’re drowning in foam. It’s just the perfect balance of soft and firm. My husband feels as if this mattress is helping his back already. He has many back pains from an old injury he acquired falling off a roof. He can usually not sleep for long periods of time as his body starts aching. He told me that this mattress has given him the best night of sleep he’s ever had. The mattress comes with a beautiful zip off cover, so you don’t have to buy any extra protection as you do with other mattresses. You can remove the cover, clean it, then zip the mattress back in. I absolutely LOVE that perk. This mattress seems to be just a little wider than my pillow top was, and just a little longer. It isn’t bad, just enough that it fills out our big pocket sheets very well. I do not think this mattress is going to slide around on the box spring like my pillow top does. I am beyond pleased with that. I had hoped that it wouldn't be so light weight that it would slip or slide around as we moved about. I'm a restless sleeper and tend to roll frequently. I have read other reviews on gel or memory foam pillows and other such items, and I've read complaints about plastic odors or chemical smells. I want to re-assure you that there is no smell with this mattress. From the time we opened it and took it out of the packaging I did not get one hint of any odors. We slept on it the first night we received the mattress and did not notice any smells.

I received this modern sleep mattress a few weeks ago at my door step. I expected it to be delivered as a flat mattress. Wow, I was surprised when it was delivered compressed into a 5.5 foot long by 18 inch wide box. It was easier to maneuver up the stairs than a regular mattress but it was still difficult because it was very heavy, about 90 pounds. After opening the box and cutting open the bag, the mattress immediately started to inflate. In less than 10 minutes the mattress was pretty much fully inflated. I let it rest for 3 days as the paperwork stated that it could take up to 2 to 3 days to fully inflate. It looked fully inflated within 2 hours. I’ve been sleeping on this mattress for a couple of weeks now and it’s the best sleep I’ve had in years. The mattress is soft, yet firm enough to support my back. I don’t feel like I’m sinking in like I did with my memory foam topper on my old mattress. During the night I frequently move around and get up to use the bathroom and with this mattress I don’t disturb my wife at all. I would recommend this mattress to anyone who wants a great night’s sleep. Just make sure you have someone to help you carry it into the bedroom.
