Stanley Fatmax auto-retract knife.

Nice knife to use, usual high Stanley quality. People having problems changing the blades they need to work out how to use the tool... but it is pretty simple. To remove/change blade press the RED side button, slide the BLACK button ALL THE WAY forward and the blade and be removed. To insert a new blade, do the same with the RED button and WHILST HOLDING the BLACK button all the way FROWARD insert the blade and then slide the BLACK button back. Job done.

Underrated Safety Knife

This is a pressure sensitive blade, meaning the blade retracts when it no longer feels the pressure to cut something. For example when you slice tape on a taped box the blade instantly retracts when you reach the end of the tape. Much safer and defines what self-retracting is. It is perfect for work environments that require a self-retracting safety knife/utility blade. The problem is that it has no instructions with it, and the cardboard insert it ships with is impossible to get out. That's the only stupid idea and only thing I don't like about it. Changing the blade: push the red button in at the front and push up the trigger button to extend the blade to its limit (keep holding the trigger in place). Then simply pull the blade out. Still holding the trigger in position, slide the new blade in until it stops, then let go of the trigger. That's it. Someone had to show me that. It's a great rugged tool, solid and heavy. I highly recommend it.

This knife is so bad that it is good!!!

At first when we got this blade an year ago, everyone at the office including me hated it. It is bad because it retracts when you don't need it to retract and is finicky to pull the blade out afterwards. HOWEVER, it is the only blade in the whole office that is always there in its place. Since nobody likes it everyone just uses it and places back down at its right place and noone goes around using it on everything. Everyone misplaces every knife except this one. Thus this knife it is so bad it is always there when you need it the most.
