I finally purchased a bike lock that was easy to install on my bike

The Kryptonite KryptoLok with FlexFrame U Bracket is a sturdy U-lock for bicycles or motorcycles. U-Locks are great anti-theft and protective locks. It is the largest and heaviest U-lock I have used on my bikes and feels quite sturdy and not at all clunky to lock. It also has a keyhole cover. I would highly recommend factoring in the dimensions, especially if you are going to use the FlexFrame U Bracket. My bike does not have a traditional smooth and rounded frame which made attaching the bracket somewhat difficult, or just made it less useful as it felt loose. Because of the size of U-lock I was steered towards putting the bracket and u-lock in a less than ideal place, but it worked out, nonetheless. As for the bracket assembly, it comes preassembled and requires you to thread the nylon belt component around your desired bike bar, pull it tight, and then put the plastic top onto it which you then tighten with a hex key. My only complaint is the bracket is entirely plastic and even has a plastic release button (clunky) to remove the U-lock from the bracket. I wonder how long it will last from wear-and-tear or very cold weather. Apart from that, I think the KryptoLoc will serve its purpose and help protect my bike as intended. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.
