A quick cleaning after every 20 minutes of use is required for optimal operation and to prevent the buildup of burned sugar. Do not use artificial sugars unless formulated for cotton candy production. If using hard candy, use only corn syrup-based candies that are made from basic ingredients to prevent burning and clogging (ingredients such as butter and starches should be avoided).
