Following the simple straightforward principles in this book have helped me become a more calm and effective parent. My relationship with my 5 year has become stronger because she is now learning from her choices (while building self confidence) and not trying to place her frustrations for her mistakes on me. This book teaches you how to allow the children to always have to choices, make a choice, and let the natural consequences of their choices play out. It has also given me great simple steps to follow to maintain my cool with my 2 year, like the uh-oh song. I think every parent should have to read this book....as it is the best parenting book I have ever read (and I have taken classes and read many books).
