Instructions
Stove Top Directions: Pick a Protein: 1 lb., cut into bite-sized pieces. Smoked sausage; Ham; Cooked chicken; Shrimp (Add cooked shrimp during last 5 minutes of cooking time). Cook: Mix 2-1/2 cups water, Rice, Mix, meat of your choice 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil (optional) in 3-quart saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover. Simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Enjoy: Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave Directions: Mix 2-1/2 cups hot water, Rice Mix, meat of your choice (Add cooked shrimp during last 5 minutes of cooking time) and 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil (optional) in 2-1/2 quart microwavable bowl until well blended. Cover. Microwave on High 5 minutes. Stir. Microwave on medium (50% power) 18 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally. Let stand in microwave 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust cooking times as needed. Cooking times are based on an 1100 watt microwave oven. Caution: Bowl and contents will be very hot. Use pot holders when removing from microwave. Zatarain's Kitchen Tips & Tricks: Veggify: Add 1 medium tomato, chopped or 1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained, 1 cup cooked corn or 1 cup broccoli florets. Quick & Easy: Try using Rotisserie chicken. Homemade: Try browning the sausage first.

Flavorful, fresher, and cheaper than the dirty rice from Churches a chicken. After asking for dirty rice as my side and half of the time not having it ready or available at all, I decided to try to buy this multipack from Sam's Club and make it myself. I have never regretted it. Now.....I can buy or make my chicken and have dirty rice and corn to go with it! Amazing !! First, I boil 3 links of boudin, let them cool, and then cut into bite size pieces. Next, I follow the Zatarains recipe and place the pieces of cooked boudin on top of the rice. So good!!!!
