Whirlpool Ice Maker D7824706Q...

We actually have a Maytag by name refrig. This was the exact replacement and works great. My wife found a you-tube video on how to remove and install the ice maker. Having watched the video it took me about 15 minutes to remove the old and install the new one. You need a 1/4" nut driver and a Philips screw driver. Makes ice great.

Making Ice

I normally don't shop around when I need a part for one of my appliances, but when I was looking at $140 for a new ice maker, I decided to check out a few more options. I didn't realize Wal-Mart sold this type of stuff, plus it was half the price. The unit has been installed for about 2 weeks now and working great.

Good replacement

Great complete replacement for the ice maker on my Whirlpool refer. I have replaced various parts over the last 5-8 years but recently the teflon surface on the mold got corroded and caused the ice to stick which burned out the motor. Decided to purchase this complete unit. Be advised however that the plastic output fingers over the mold and the plastic bottom shroud on the new tray are different than mine. I had the replace those with the ones from my old ice maker. But everything fit together perfectly. The model number matched my old ice maker but this new one must be a later incarnation. Everything works fine however with some of the old plastic shrouds exchanged. Photos left to right-new icemaker with old shroud installed, old ice maker with pieces from replacement model, old ice maker with closeup of corroded mold.
