Quickly melt away overnight snow and ice build-up with Compass Minerals Mag Chloride 8300 Ice Melter, 53820. It is the strongest performing product in the Safe Step line. Its maximum-power formula melts ice in extremely cold weather to free your driveway and walk paths from the dangers of slipping and sliding. Compass Minerals 8300 ice melt is made up of 100 percent magnesium chloride hexahydrate for quick-and-thorough melting action. It successfully melts ice down to -15 degrees Fahrenheit/-26 degrees Celsius, offering melting relief to climates zones with the coldest temperatures. This 20-lb bag of extreme ice melt features a unique ice-penetrating shape that provides rapid melting capabilities and scatter control. Because this mix contains one-third fewer chlorides in its formula, it is safer for pets, people and the environment. Compass Minerals Mag Chloride 8300 Ice Melter is EPA Design for the Environment certified.

Purchased to use on my new concrete sidewalk. The formula of ice melt should help the concrete from being damaged by chemical action. Works well. Have not had an opportunity to use it on temperatures less than zero.

Great Product!
I absolutely love this product. It is safe for pets but does an excellent job of melting ice and snow and keeping my walks and driveway clear without damaging them. Walmart's service was top notch. I received this product expeditiously and it was securely packaged.
