The product material description states it is made of plastic but it's actually stainless steel with a plastic outer layer....a feature not a bug. When I opened the packaging I was pleasantly surprised and ordered another one!

Good Cocktail Shaker for the price

I ordered this as a replacement for a very sturdy stainless steel shaker that was deteriorating after many years of use. One reason I ordered this unit (besides the low price) was because another review stated that “The product material description states it is made of plastic but it's actually stainless steel with a plastic outer layer.” This makes for a very light weight shaker compared to my previous shaker. However, another review stated that this shaker does not leak, which is only true if you shake the unit in an upright position, but if you shake the way I do by holding a finger on the top of the unit and turning it upside down while shaking, you will find that it will leak slightly….but not very much. This leak I believe is due to the fact that the strainer and lid fit inside of the bottom part of the shaker as opposed to fitting over top of the bottom of the shaker like my previous unit. Bottom line, if any of my comments above bother you, then invest in a more expensive unit, but for the money it certainly does the job.
