These are awesome! No rubber chemical smell and the handles are so convenient whenever you have to move the plates. The pates are so easy to grasp when doing shrugs, frontal raises, sit-ups etc. Originally, I purchased the rubber coated plates but returned them immediately. Based other reviews I came to the conclusion I many never prevent the weights from smelling and at best it would take months of sunlight and possibly years before the off-gassing ran it's course. No thanks, these steel weights are a million times better.
