It's a pretty specific item. It is either exactly what you are looking for or it's not. Great plate adapter. These should really just come standard on any equipment that uses plate weights. If you are needing heavy weight and multiple plates, i'd search for a 10" or 12" adapter. 8" does start to get cramped after putting your first two 45 lb plates. But most people don't need more than that.

Does its job

I bought some Body Solid equipment off of Craigslist that all had 1" posts. I wanted to use olympic plates with the equipment, so I purchased several of these. They are sturdy and hold fine with just one set screw. Sams Club definitely has the best price on these, as they are a minimum of $16 (after shipping) everywhere else.

Pretty good but one defect..

The adapter is well made and looks good. I bought two adapters. One was perfect and the other didn't tighten down completely. For what I needed they didn't need to be tight. The plates slid easily on them so they did the job well.
