Solid Rod

I've been using the 12' Ugly Stik paired with an 8000 Penn Pursuit reel, and it handles extremely well. I mainly use it for crab snaring and have thrown 10 oz lures without any issues. The rod has plenty of backbone for casting heavy weight, but still feels balanced and comfortable in hand. Overall, it's a solid, durable setup that performs exactly how you'd expect from an Ugly Stik, reliable and tough.

The rod felt really good so I purchased it separately. It worked flawlessly with the first catch being a croaker and, soon after, a guitarfish.
