International Concepts Set of Two Versailles Side Chairs

The chairs are beautiful and very sturdy. That said, the instructions are way too brief. I didn't have a problem because I have put together chairs before. However, with nothing to rely on but those instructions, I can see someone who has not done this before having problems.You have to attach the legs and the stretcher assembly in the right order. The instructions are too vague about that. Also, the instructions simply say not to tighten the bolts until the chair is assembled. What they need to say is that it works best to put the assembled chair on a flat, level surface, and then tighten each bolt a little at a time, keeping the chair level. If you fully tighten one bolt, and then the next, you will find that you have a wobbly chair. A final thought is in regard to the seat. It extends nearly an inch from the seat frame on part of the sides and the front. If it were upholstered, I think it would look odd. It would probably be better to have new, slightly smaller wood seats cut if you plan to upholster.
