- Excuses are so easy. That is why we use them. Training your mindset is a little bit more difficult. Every chapter in this book is titled after some excuse that many of us have used or thought about at some point in our life. If you do not open the pages of this book and dive in, you will miss out on jolting experiences and telling adventures of amazing individuals that will change the way you approach the next moment of your life. There are two halves to this book, similar to two halves in a game. The first half is filled with a variety of information, laughter, determination and stories to counter the excuse that the chapter is named after. The second half is filled with vivid pictures about Coach Gatlin's life experiences. The photos help bring transparency to each chapter, reminding the reader that it's not how you start, but how you finish that really matters. The pictures also help bring a level of authenticity to his powerful message of redemption, hope, focus, desire, and strong will; a will to win at the game of life.

About the Author
COACH GATLIN (Fred Gatlin M.A.) is the CEO of Coach Gatlin Mind Set. Coach Gatlin is a native of Compton Ca. where sports, strong male coaches, and great parenting changed his life. He has been coaching basketball, football, and personal training student athletes for the past two decades. He is a former professional athlete that played quarterback in college for the University of Nevada-Reno (1989-1992, three-time conference champion, top conference new-comer of the year, two time MVP, and team captain). Professionally, he played for the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL (Canadian Football League) and the Milan Rhinos of the European Football League. Coach Gatlin is also a public middle school principal for troubled youth. He has been a certified educator for the past 23 years and an administrator for the past four. He also volunteers his time to teach "Independent Living" skills to students and foster youth in need. His life's work is to help teenagers and adults grow and change their mindsets, one-step at a time. He received his Master's Degree in Education from Pepperdine University and finished his administrative work from Brandman University.
