The unique pressure regulating system gives you the convenience of finger-tip pressure release and prevents clogging of the steam vent. The double-thick base stays flat, heats evenly and is ideal for light frying before pressure cooking. Suitable for gas, electric, ceramic and halogen cooktops. The Futura has a 1/4 inch thick base providing for incredible durability and reliable, even cooking. Hard anodized, non-tarnish, scratch proof Satilon finish. Satilon is stick resistant and extremely abrasion resistant. Stay cool handles and helper handles make handling easier. Inside-fitting lid is pressure locked while in operation, patented pressure regulator prevents clogging of steam vent, direction, controlled fingertip steam release, shielded safety valve. Body and lid are hard-anodised to over 50 microns, this surface will not tarnish, pit, corrode or scratch, it will prevent food from coming into contact with aluminium at core, it will stay looking new for years.

Hard anodising was first developed by Russian scientists to produce a metal surface tough enough for space travel. The same technology is now used by to make its Hard Anodised pressure cookers and cookware. Through a process of electrolysis at sub-zero temperature using a high intensity electric current, a 60 micron thick layer of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) is formed molecule by molecule as an integral part of the metal. This process produces a surface harder than steel with wonderful properties for cooking. The Hard Anodised surface is non-toxic, non-staining and non-reactive with foods. It is thermal-efficient, heats fast and evenly and is not spoiled by high heat. It is tough and durable, will not tarnish or corrode and will stay looking new for years.
