the only primer to use

So this is a must have item in the mini painter aresenal. specially with speed paints.. or anyone that wants to zenethial highlights. I use to prime with the big box stores paint at 1/2 to 1/3 the price, but I started noticing all the faces on my minis would just disappear, or skin texture on birds / animals. would just be solid surfaces. I grabbed a can of Army Painter Primer.. I would never go back. They are pricey but worth every drop.. I've learned to be real light on the trigger, always dispense in short shots in a moving fashion. Never just dump the paint on, I've gotten so good at it, the paintgoes on in very small dry coats. almost like an airbrush.. This can will paint many mini's. easily 100 if not more.

Use the right primer

I used a hardware story primer and it filled in all the details. Now I only use Army Painter primer and have never that that issue with this product.

Highly recommended

Matte White Spray primer provides good coverage on the first go and provides a smooth base to build on while highlighting small details, not covering them.
