Mix the Ideal Manhattan: In a cocktail shaker, combine 1-1/2 fluid ounces Rye or Bourbon Whiskey, 1/2 fluid ounce Sweet Vermouth, a dash of Blood Orange Bitters and plenty of ice. Shake gently. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Blood Orange Champagne Cocktail: In a champagne flute, soak a sugar cube in Blood Orange Bitters. Fill the flute with 4 fluid ounces chilled Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist. Refrigerate after opening. Shake before serving.

For me, a indespenseable ingregdient to make the "perfect Manhattan. Use about 1 teaspoon portion in place of other bitters and it reinforces the cherry topping. Without exception it draws raised eyebrows of delight. I Buy it in case lots because of its versatility.
