Wow that was easy!!!

I just got the Epson Workforce WF-5690! I'm not the tech person for the office. In fact we are a 3 person team here. I installed the machine and set it up to all the PC's on our network in a breeze!! We have different windows for our office XP, Vist, 7, and Epson was able to configure with all of them. I didn't have to call any support or research online on how to configure the system. BTW, the printer lives up to all its reviews!!! Fast! Quite!! and Great Resolution. I now wished we would have bought one that holds more paper. Thanks epson for this great product!!

They Should Have Called it WorkHORSE

I couldn't be happier with my WorkForce Pro WF-5690's performance! The quality of copies - whether documents or photos - is crisp and clear. The speed of output is ten times better than my old Canon All-In-One, and the XXL ink cartridges seem to last forever. This was by far one of my best purchase decisions in 2015.

very good capability printer

We purchased the WF-5690 directly from the Epson store. We selected this printer as an alternative to a laser printer because: 1. higher print resolution than many laser printers 2. PostScript support 3. availability of 788XXL very high capacity ink cartridges 4. reasonably priced ink cartridges 5. works with Mac and Windows The print speed is good, and it probably prints 5 very colorful pages per minute. Not as fast as a laser printer, but much faster than the older inkjet that we replaced it with. Our "very colorful" pages are brochure-like, not the business graphics pages that these sorts of printers spec with. We're happy with the print speed. The unit itself is stable and doesn't wiggle around during printing like our old inkjet printer. It is also quiet. We haven't exercised the fax, copier, nor scanner functionality yet, but we have printed about 800 pages so far, and already replaced the original free cartridges that came with the unit with the larger cartridges. Since we are using this printer as a laser replacement, we didn't need photo-quality printing on glossy paper. Since it spec's a high dpi, it is probably good but we haven't tried to print on glossy paper yet. I don't think that Epson is targeting the photo market with this printer (they have other printers for photos). The only issue that we had was that the printer arrived with a bow in the plastic front door that prevented it from closing completely (thus triggering a "close the door" message on the LCD screen). Although we would have been happy if Epson just sent a new plastic door, they actually sent a whole new printer and free shipping on the returned unit. So Epson Support gets a gold star also. We like the touch screen interface, the ease of replacing the ink cartridges, and the ease of loading paper. We didn't get the extra paper tray, but we may purchase that in the future. So far, I can't find anything that I don't like about this printer. Scott
