I have only had this pump installed for a week, so I can only base my review on that, but I love it. We have a 24' round above ground pool and previously had a Waterway 2 HP, 125 sq. ft., 2 speed cartridge filter/pump (9 years, run pretty much 24/7 nine months out of the year) and it was a great pump. I originally planned to replace it with the same when it burned out last year. After shopping around for a while I finally settled on the 1.5 HP, 150 sq. ft., Hayward Xstream. Even though it is 1.5 HP it feels much stronger than our previous 2 HP, something I was concerned about, but the price was right and the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. This pump only has one speed and although I would have preferred two for the optional electrical savings we rarely used the low speed on our old pump because it just didn't seem to filter as well. So that wasn't a deal breaker for me. With the power this pump has I have no doubt the low speed would be better than our previous pump so I now wish I would have had that option. I do love cartridge filters, so much better than sand in my opinion, and this one does not disappoint. Our pool was a mess due to not being filtered for almost 7 months and with proper sanitizing and this awesome pump/filter it was quickly returned to the crystal clear water that we are accustomed to. I hope we get many years out of our new pump. So far I am satisfied, time will tell... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
