This Balaclava is well made from High quality spandex/nylon ! It is well sewn with the stitching tight. My husband works in construction and is outdoors all year round. Being winter in New York it is bitter cold! He dresses in layers and makes sure he has heavy socks, good insulated boots and gloves when he can. He used to not wear anything on his face, so it was often windburned and freezing. Having to work outdoors and be uncomfortable and freezing really wears you down. When I saw this balaclava, I figured it was worth a try! When I gave this balaclava to my DH, he was a bit skeptical. It seemed thin and seemed like it wouldn't do much good. Thankfully he decided to give it a try. He wore it to work, it fit wonderfully under his hardhat. In fact, his coworkers were in awe of his balaclava as some have the fleece one and they find it is too thick to fit under a helmet or hardhat. We may have started a new trend, because they all wanted to know where he got his thin one! By lunch, DH called me to tell me that the balaclava was saving him from having the worst day ever. He said it was definitely keeping his face warm and that the BEST FEATURE was that it is long enough down his neck that it prevents wind from getting under. All in all, this is a TOP-NOTCH balaclava, it fits perfectly under a helmet or hard hat. It is super comfortable and super warm keeping the wind out! I highly recommend this to anyone who works outdoors. It sure is a help!
