Fiskars Amplify RazorEdge Scissors Fabric Shears, Orange, 10 inch

If you work with leather, you want these shears. The Amplify tech actually does work at keeping the scissors from spreading. Fiskers always good success with their products, these shears are no different. Cuts through thick material, especially leather. Cuts accurately and easily. Absolutely my favorite craft scissors.

These Fiskars Amplify RazorEdge Fabric Scissor are really amazing. The 10” blade makes cutting long pieces a breeze. The handles are large enough for people with large hands to hold and are made of a Softgrip material that keeps them comfortable even with extended use and on multiple layers. The blades are made of Premium Japanese stainless steel and the scissors are made in Taiwan. There is also a handy sheath which protects the blade and your hands while not in use. The product also has a lifetime warranty. To judge for myself just how well these scissors work on thickness and multiple layers, I took a sheet of fairly stiff fabric and started cutting. On one layer these scissirs cut like a knife through butter. I simply started the cut and then slid the scissor forward. It was amazing. Then I tested it on multiple layers. I started with four layers, then folded again to eight layers and it still cut easily. I folded the fabric again and cut through sixteen layers. Obviously more effort is required but the cut was still razor sharp and the handle was still very comfortable even at this thickness. Just for giggles I decided to do one more fold – yes, I'm talking 32 layers at once! - and amazingly it still cut well. My biggest problem was getting the blades far enough opened to get 32 layers between them. LOL Once the blade came down the cut was fairly easy, far easier than keeping 32 layers of fabric together. I was also pleased to see that despite the stress of this massive cut the blades came back together flawlessly. No bending, no gaps, no problems. A great product which I highly recommend.
