A standard for a reason

This book is a standard reference in the field, and once you start working through it, you can see why. It's straightforward, well-organized, and is reasonably accessible to the non-specialist with a decent background in the theory of algorithms (say a few Coursera courses on the topic). It seems to cover the topic well and so far, seems to be exactly as advertised.
