ASUS ROG Strix Gaming Laptop 17.3", Intel Core i7-8750, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, 256GB SSD + 1TB SSHD Storage, 16GB RAM, GL703GS-DS74

There have definitely been mixed reviews on this laptop, and what I would say to that is you should go into this aware of the fact that this is a power house laptop is a slim fit chassis. To elaborate on that, you should NOT use this directly on your laptop in order to improve air flow to the cooling system, and this WILL run warmer than a desktop running the same equipment, BUT it is designed to do so. Under gaming load my computer would run 80-85 C without the cooling pad running, and around 75-80 C with the cooling pad running. This is completely acceptable for a gaming laptop with this level of computer components packed into it. Now, as far as gaming capabilities I was able to run any and everything I wanted to at pretty much max settings without dropping below 50-60fps at a minimum. This is also with the use of the cooling pad to maintain temperatures. The 144Hz display is FANTASTIC and creates an uninterrupted, smooth gaming experience. Not to mention the ability to add additional monitors without phasing the computers performance. Last, to briefly cover the build, this computer doesn't disappoint. Over the last few years I have begun selecting the ASUS ROG line for my gaming needs, as their designs and quality have been the bar setter, and second to none. Granted this is my opinion, I will stand by it, and would likely say those that do not believe so are attempting to improperly use the equipment. To those that are looking for some sort of an 'ultrabook' style laptop, which can sit directly on your laptop for use, this is definitely not for you. As this is a powerhouse gaming laptop, you need to be able to set this on a flat surface to allow for cooling, and to help extend the life of the laptop components. Overall I give this laptop a 4.8/5 (which is 5 stars in this rating system). This is just due to the finger print magnet of a finish on the laptop. Other than that, simply crushed it with this, as always!

I got this laptop over a year ago, and its the laptop I have been using ever since, great ports selection and specs. I stream from it and it works well.
