As expected. I own a few rugs in this material and they have never been an issue for me. Does need a pad on a hard surface. Depending on the vacuum cleaner, issues vary. I have one vacuum that I can use on this surface without totally ruining the pilling.

Perfect For Staircase!

We ordered two of these rugs to finish our farmhouse staircase. The rug is just the right thickness and flexibility to wrap around stairs and yet still have some softness underfoot. It did not smell or have any wrinkles in it. It does have looser threads on the pattern, so maybe not good for a pet with nails, if they're going to slide across it playing fetch indoors. The color is perfect.
