The Ice Maker Valve is equivalent to OEM component specifically designed for Specific Whirlpool refrigerator Models. It plays an important role in the ice-making process by controlling the flow of water into the ice maker. Causes of a bad ice maker valve include mineral or sediment buildup restricting water flow, cracks in the valve housing allowing leaks, or failure of internal components like the solenoid or inlet/outlet ports.
Symptoms of a bad valve:- No water filling the ice maker bucket
- Slow or inconsistent ice production
- Water leaks from the refrigerator's back wall or ice maker area
