Love the perspective each main actress possesses. Especially Jennifer Lawrence! It's a great movie.

David Russell is a director who enjoys showing the life of everyday characters and they way they interact with each other. Ordinary people are elevated to greatness in his films- just watch Silver Linings Playbook to see what I mean. American Hustle is a story about a few scammers and their scams but it is mostly about the different characters, their lives, their weaknesses, their strengths and the way they interact with their friends and families. Christian Bale is amazing as a scammer and with Amy Adams as his equally crooked friend and partner they are sensational. You should feel revulsion towards these people but when you see their side stories and complicated lives - you start to understand their motives and intentions. Bradley Cooper, though not as good as Silver Linings is still amazing. His character is also very well written and is a about a man trying to be someone. Jennifer Lawrence has a shorter role but she is a maniac- just too good. Jeremy Renner is Polito, a New Jersey mayor a good man who sometimes has to be dishonest. I loved the way these characters come alive. They transform themselves completely This is a great film that you will find extremely enjoyable, I have purposely not written about the story because you just have to see this film to enjoy it. 20th December 2013.
