I have been feeding hummers for over 45 years. This is the best and easiest feeder to fill and clean. Has a strong hanger too. Don't worry about not being colored. Once hummers find the feeder they will always come to it and please do not clolor the water and sugar mixture you make for the red coloring is bad for the, I love my hummers. Good Luck
