The color is true navy, and the reverse is a darkish red. Perfect for my college son's dorm, he sleeps warm and did not want a super fluffy comforter. Son was afraid the colors would be too bright, but they aren't. We splurged on one set of designer plaid sheets he had to have, so this quilt was not only a perfect match but saves the budget too. It also comes with a matching pillow sham. Washes great.
