I've always wanted an Opinel knife. Why I never bought one, I still don't understand because when this XP arrived, I immediately was so impressed and glad I did. Came very, crazy sharp, from the box. Lite is an understatement, it's like not there, weight wise. Handle is wooden, painted black with textured feel in hand, with XP logo on the handle as well. The no. 8 size, is perfect for my hand size. No pocket clip or sheath, typical for this style of woodsman knife. The blade steel is a Sanvik scandi, grind and as mentioned, super sharp. Simple, sharp, comfortable in hand, blade is polished and a handsome overall look. Comes with the twist lock at the bolster as the bolster/w/twist lock. I, immediately upon arrival, made a leather sheath, for mine by hand, to slide onto my belt w/ belt loop afor and aft., making it scout carry. Photo included. Love it. Highly recommend it or any Opinel knife. This one looks a bit more special because of the circumstances, it was built for. Manual opening only, thumb nik and manual closing. Very pleased.
