Better than I could hope
after reading reviews , I expected the hydrofoil to help my boat plane faster which it did...in less than half the time. What really surprised me was how much it helped in cornering, you could hear dramatically less cavitation. The final shocker was that my ultra consistent boat actually was faster and will top out at 300 rpm higher than before. I doubt I will ever have a more effective purchase for my boat...I will warn you that if you see you will have to drill the back holes from underneath as I did on my alpha one, DO NOT remove the center spacing bar as no matter how careful you are the rear holes will not be drilled in exactly the right place.

I expect to be teaching my oldest Grandson to water ski in the near future and my Bass boat like most is a little tail heavy and at low speeds can be a little hard to keep on a plane. This device solves the problem nicely and reduces low speed steering effort to boot. Little if any loss in top speed. Very well constructed with quality hardware and easy to follow instructions. Walmart's price and speedy delivery was the icing on the cake.

I still can't believe how much this helps!
So I did a lot of researching before i made this purchase. I wanted to know if it would give my particular boat any improvements before I wasted any time or money on it! I have a 16.5 foot ski boat. It's a 1991, with a 135 hp IB with a stern drive. I went ahead and layed the holes out to drill. I couldn't see spending twice as much just so i didn't have to drill, or just so i could take it off faster. Long story short, I can get on plane while running a little less than 10mph. I can turn twice as sharp, with no ventilation or cavitation. It's just an all around smoother ride at any speed!
