It's so refreshing to get to watch a program that my entire family can watch! You'll get to meet the hard working people that live their lives in the bayous, marshes and wetlands that make up America's largest swamp, the Atchafalaya Swamp, in Louisiana. Several families make up the real-life cast of Swamp People. They are hardworking people who are proud of their heritage that is deeply rooted in the Cajun traditions and history. Their world is full of danger with the gators that they hunt, along with a host of other creatures of the swamp, but it is also beautiful. Like the one Landry boys said "It's a little piece of heaven here on earth." Even though these swamp people may be very self-reliant and independent, they are the most generous and kind people you would ever get the privilege of getting to know. It's amazing to see how they manage to live off the land and swamps and bayous in this modern world that we live in. Some scenes during the gator hunting may be a little too graphic for some people to see, especially young children. I got used to the gator hunting scenes. Use your judgment as to who watches those scenes in the show. There is much more than just gator hunting to see and enjoy... such as their big family & friends get-togethers where everyone is welcome and no one ever leaves hungry! I found myself becoming so wrapped up in watching these people live out their daily lives that I almost feel as though I know them as my real friends. Truly a gift for the entire family to watch together. Come visit the world of the swamp! You may not want to leave!
