I think they run true to size. Th fabric is denim "type" and not too warm. They have enough stretch to feel very comfortable. I got the dark denim which is a nice slimming color. They do stretch and will eventually feel a bit bigger. If you do not want them to stretch or follow your body line and show every imperfection, it might be better to size up.

These are nice plus jeans shorts ,much like the ones by the same brand that have 2 pockets. BuT these have 2 back pockets. They fit nice and are comfortable to wear. They are the same stretchy material,so I can go down a size
