They fit snuggly, but movement is not difficult. I feel so much safer now, using both the box grater and the mandolin. I am rather klutzy, but also on a blood thinner, and the slightest cut can become a serious matter. I was so happy when I found these, and they are getting broken in quickly. I definitely recommend them to anyone nervous around sharp kitchen tools. They make meal prep so much safer.
