Takes weight measurements great
I use this in my kitchen for confirming prepackaged food didn't skimp I also use it for measuring how much to cook in following recipes It could be good for those dieting too maybe, but I don't even try to do all that. It has a "tare" function to reset the weight to 0, which is good of u have stuff on a plate and don't want to include it in the measurements. Tare works as expected. One thing to note -- it doesn't come with the 2 aaa batteries it needs. We use rechargeable batteries and the scale works good with them.
Mainstays is a good product!
I owned a Mainstays digital scale a while back and it was a good scale. I don't know what happened to it - maybe I left it at my sister's house. Anyhoo! I was pleased to get this one. I prefer this round one as opposed to the square one. As with most food scales, you can adjust to your liking: pounds, grams, ounces, ml, and fluid ounces. Just remember to put your bowl or plate on the scale first and then press the tare button to bring the weight to 00.00. Then add your food or liquids so that way you are not adding the weight of your bowl to your food. I'm weighing my food because I need to lose weight and I have to have portion control This food scale helps a lot! The scale is accurate as can be and the red color is a perfect match for my other red kitchen appliances. This item is lightweight yet sturdy. The only downside to this review is the scale DID NOT come with 2 AAA batteries even though the box states they are included! I know there is a recession going on but come on, man! Where the batteries at yo?? Had to scrounge around the house for some batteries for the scale.
Nice scale
This food scale is nice and looks attractive sitting out on the counter. I weight my food a lot as I need to track calories and this scale is invaluable. I like the red color as it gives it a pop. It is easy to read and you can clean it fast. Definitely recommended.
