I renovated vehicles for three dealerships in Kellogg Idaho during the 70's. At the age of 63 and retired I decided to take on our personal vehicles. My first task was to be our 25' welded aluminum boat. It being 70% bare aluminum and 30% painted and the fact that it would pain me less if I burned a bit of paint on it.
I started with my 7" grinder, foam pads and Marine 31 pontoon and Aluminum cleaner, port and starboard sides. That was the get down and dirty part.
I then pulled out my brand new G9 random orbital polisher, foam pads and Marine 31 again. I finished the starboard hull side and just started on the port side when the G9 would not turn off. I unplugged it and after removing the polish the G9 never started back up. I tried the G9 next morning and it still would not start up.
I called the supplier and explained my predicament. I asked if they would allow an upgrade and there reply was of course. They explained that the new XCE 10-8 125 was the way to go. I made the purchase, dropped the G9 off at FedEx and life is good. I finished the port side and the diamond deck swim platform over the jet drive. Bare diamond deck aluminum is a bearcat as well. I will be tackling the painted bulkhead as soon as I finish the top of the hull. Then I will be moving on to our silver Audi and our black Chevy truck. Yes I am enjoying my new tool.
Most of all it runs and does not wheeze in pain and quit orbiting whenever the slightest amount of pressure is applied.
Thankyou Flex, you have given me new hope. The world will continue to be a better place with better engineering and science.
