I'm very happy w/this new laptop. BUT I am NOT very techie and only use it minimally. It is certainly fast enough to do what I need...mostly email and FB. We got it mostly for when we travel, to have something more than my iPad to do email and research what we want to visit or find places to eat, etc. It is light weight and so far seems very reliable. :) It is certainly enough for a student to do all their work on.
