This five disc set is a great introduction to the second wave of Bay Area thrash metal. Some of the greatest riffs of the mid- to late 80's metal can be found in this collection. Stand outs like Into The Pit, Souls Of Black, The Ballad, Practice What You Preach, and Electric Crown are here for your listening pleasure. This is a compact set, so you don't get the full, jewel-cased disc's. They come in slip-covers that are akin to mini-albums. All five albums (which are their first five) sound great, like they did in their heyday. This is a perfect collection of you are curious about one of the best bands to come from the thrash movement or, like me, wanted to reclaim music from your youth but don't want to pay full retail for each album. This collection saves you money. And if you're a parent of a child who is curious about the great guitar shredders of the ‘80's, this is a great introduction to that as well, considering Alex Skolnick is one of the best guitarist's in his generation.
