I selected this 16 Qt for ease of mixing up batches of pantry preps like biscuit mix, pancake mix , making bread and preparing large salads for parties. I did look at the 8 quart in Walmart store but it wasn't large enough. Great quality.

Adequate for my use at home

The size is what I was looking for. The only drawback I see is the bottom is thin - considerably thinner than the sides. Since I'm an occasional baker, I think it will suit my purposes so I'm going to keep it. However, I wonder how it would hold up with more frequent mixing with a beater.
